About

Brandon Foster is the Mizzou beat writer at the Jefferson City News Tribune.

His time covering Missouri athletics has been an eventful one. Brandon has written about Michael Sam becoming the first openly gay Division-I college football player. He has covered the Missouri football team’s groundbreaking boycott in protest of racist events on campus — while contributing additional reports to BBC Radio. His coverage of the university’s handling of swimmer Sasha Menu Courey’s suicide won a Mastering the Method award for breaking news.

Of course, Brandon has covered games, too. Both good (the SEC football championship game) and bad (Missouri basketball’s nine-win season).

If you’re looking for features, you’ll find them here as well. Try Brandon’s profile on former gay NFL player Wade Davis, who helped broaden the league’s understanding of gay athletes. Or this profile on Alex Clark, the Missouri tennis player who struggled to return to the court after the death of her mother.
